We are getting the kind of snowfall that everyone wishes for on special days ... like Christmas. These snowflakes are massive and gorgeous! Seriously, they are bigger around than a quarter. Everything has already been coated in white and it's supposed to just keep coming down for several more hours.
If you enlarge the picture above you can see the huge snowflakes coming down out of the sky. Those are not droplets on my camera lens.
I have just come in from shoveling snow. It is heavy, wet snow and it's about 8 inches deep on the drive. What a great work out! But I probably won't be able to move tomorrow! LOL!!
Very pretty. Makes me miss my Appalachian Mountains. It's been cold here on the coast of NC, but we do not get snow.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and safe.

ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures of the snow! We are getting our snow today too. It started here around 9:00 this morning and isn't supposed to stop until tomorrow evening. Our area is supposed to get 1-2 feet...have some ice mixed in with it. Hope your college kids make it home safely.
ReplyDeleteHope the kids get home safe in spite of the gorgeous scenery. Great photos!...and your pillow hearts on your last post are wonderful...you say they are vintage but did you make any also? They are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless
Looks just like here. It snowed most of the day. We have another storm coming the end of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy and stay warm.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, but I am o so glad the snow is gone here, although they predict more cold weather for the coming week. For Dutch standards we have had loads of snow already ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!

Your pictures are very, very pretty. I do love snow, it's the shoveling I'm not so fond of... Hope everybody makes it there safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photographs, thank you for sharing, and thank you too for your wonderful advice on my procrastination, you are right, and I do think if all of us in the family go to bed with a pretty smile on our faces at the end of the day then all is well and I shall be very happy :0)

Wow, very pretty pictures. I remember the blizzard in 93 when I was in college and a bunch of us drove home. We were stupid!
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful! We have not had one snowflake this year -- not one! Some day I'm going to move to a cabin in the woods and sit in front of the fire all winter knitting, as I watch the snow fall outside my window ;-).
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
G
And thank you for the prayers!

ReplyDeleteI love you photo's and by the way the hearts below too. I have just taken a welcome break from making pottery hearts, painting them red, putting a guest names in silver writing on them, then threading them on ribbon ready to tie around the table serviettes for my daughters wedding!

Gorgeous pictures! I suppose we'll have some more of the white stuff later today through tomorrow in our neck of the woods. Still 4 inches or so on the ground from Friday's 'dump' :) Hope your kids made it home okay. -Tammy
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely gorgeous. It does look like Christmas. Hope you can stay inside and cozy and just admire it from fireside.
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving a nice comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question about the hammered pieces. If you see something you like I can send you a close up detailed pic and if you want to buy it, then I can make arrangements with the seller.
Just let me know.
Thanks
Sissie
Don't you just love it when the snow covers the tree branches like that. It sure looks like a winter wonderland. How big and beautiful those snowflakes were. I was so excited to hear that we were going to get 12 inches of snow. When I woke Saturday morning to 23 inches I was sure surprised!! It was great until we had to shovel. Just where do you put 23 inches of snow??? The weatherman is calling for 2-4 more inches this coming Tuesday---YIKES
ReplyDeleteStay warm and safe--hope your family made it home safe :)
Fondly
Mimi~
It's so beautiful but it can be hard to shovel if it is heavy like that. Speaking of workouts...
ReplyDeletewant me to come shovel your snow. I have gained five pounds since I began blogging a year ago! :) NOT good.
Your photo's were gorgeous! I have seen other people show their falling snow and it is perfectly round. Yours look like wonderful.
You can see how it is sticking together on the branches. I imagine some will break with the weight of that kind of snow.
Take care and stay warm..
Mona
Ah spring snow, wet & heavy!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to respond to your LA question-almost all of my quilting is freehand, I don't have a computer on my LA & really don't want one! Don't have the extra $25,000 anyway!
Occasionally I will use a pantograph,[ I find them boring!] a pattern on a roll of paper laid on the table under my machine that I can follow with a laser attached to my machine, but everything I quilt is hand guided. My =e= is on my profile if you would like to email me I'm happy to chat about quilting!
Our snow was small, light and fluffy. Maybe our temps were colder??
ReplyDeleteAre you scheduled for another hit this week too? Ours is not supposed to melt due to cold temps, so we will have 1 ft of snow on top of a predicted 1 ft of snow if their predictions come true...but then again, it could all be nothing. Who knows!
Wow I miss the snow so much. I live in CA and haven't seen snow in like three years. I love those photos.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I wish that we got snow like that where I live. I'm sure it can get tiresome by the end of a long winter though.....
ReplyDeleteHope you're staying all warm and cozy!
These pictures are so pretty, they could be postcards. Altho everyone is tired of all the snow, it's a good thing for sure. Just think of all the water you will have after the melt. Your spring blooms will be gorgeous, Char
ReplyDeleteWow what a photo! Wish I could see that in person!
ReplyDeleteGirl! You can so make the slipcover...wow I was still editing that post when I saw your comment-- haha!--thax for stoppin' by!
