Pillows From Vintage Linens

You've probably seen some of these pillows in past posts.
They are found in several different rooms around my house.
A wee bit of ric-rac, lace, chenille or gingham
can quickly turn damaged, vintage linens into cute scatter pillows.
Embroidered kitty-cats, birds and flowers are my favorites motifs to use.

How do you use vintage linens in your home?

Note:
I did not do the embroidery work myself.  But I did sew several of the pillows.

  1. What a lovely collection. I have a few special vintage pillows that I've picked up (I wish I could do embroidery). Lately, I've noticed those special pillows have made their way to Emma's window seat!

  4. oh my gosh! I've been wondering what I can do with mine instead of leaving them in a box in a shelf. Love this idea.

  5. Oh those pillows are so darling. I haven't used vintage linens for pillows yet - but I will now, for sure. I have been wanting to change something in my bedroom, and this is the perfect thing.

  9. What a sweet, sweet idea. I particularly love the one in the top right corner. I like to use vintage linen to make cushions too, but haven't done so for quite some time.

  11. Let's see...I fold mine up and put them on a shelf! But I may be decide to make some of these for new covers for some of my 'many' throw pillows. I've made pillows of every size and shape so making covers from old linens is a great idea! thanks for sharing! I'm SO ready for a change!

  12. Now I know I need to dust off my sewing machine. Your pillows are so pretty! I keep my linens folded up in a drawer and often wonder what to do with them. Now I know! Thanks for sharing.

  17. Great idea-- well done too! I use vintage linens for their intended purpose! Although I have used a few recently to make the trendy "hoop art" pictures (there are a couple in my Etsy shop and other nice examples there).

  27. Good Afternoon Gayle, You have a beautiful selection of vintage linens. I love how you have turned them into gorgeous cushions. I have collected quite a few embroidered pieces over the years and I want to turn them into a crazy quilt. I just need to collect a few more.
    A project for the future.
    Have a lovely weekend.
    Best Wishes
