Do you all remember the paperdolls that had clothes with no tabs?
Their clothes just stuck to them. Like magic.
This is Amy. (Whitman 1968)
I do declare, I must have been out of my mind
when I dressed this poor doll in a thick sweater for the bloggy-fashion-shoot.
It's a roasting outside! She needs to be in a swim suit!
That's better!
Hope you are staying cool, too.

ReplyDeleteGayle I do remember the paper dolls like that. Paper dolls are one of my favorite things. I had tons of them when I was little but I am not sure whatever happen to them.

So sweet!
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one still playing with paper dolls.
I just ordered some a few weeks ago on etsy. I'll have to show them to you on my blog sometime.
A hint-there are five of them!
She is so cute. I do not remember those. I only had one paper doll and she was Holly Hobby.
ReplyDeleteOh yes - indeed she needs a swim suit - and if she lived up here she could go out in the rain in it and be perfectly happy.
ReplyDeleteNo - really - the sweater is just the thing for the cold and the rain we've had up here today. I had to put the heat on in the house today - so late in July!
ReplyDeleteHow cute is she....
ReplyDeletePlaying with paper dolls is a lovely way to stay cool. I have loads of them in my craft room. I think Miss Josie needs to be introduced to them again on this hot weekend.
ReplyDeleteShe does look more comfortable now ... and cute too. I loved playing paper dolls many moons ago.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore those paper dolls! Thank you so much for that trip down memory lane.
ReplyDeleteI remember as a child i LOVED them, only had dolls with tabs . They are all gone, don't know where...... SO SORRY
ReplyDeleteHi Gayle, Oh! does this bring back wonderful memories for me, thanks so much. I am trying to stay cool and hope you are too.

I loved paper dolls when I was little.
ReplyDeleteAmy is very cute. Does look happier in the swimsuit than the sweater.
Melinda
I loved paper dolls too but my daughter never played with them much even though I kept buying them for her.
ReplyDeleteCathy
I do remember those -- loved them. I never could get into paper dolls -- no matter how my mom tried to convince me they were fun (not ;), but I loved the sticky ones.

Hi Gayle ~ How cute! I loved my paper dolls your blog always brings back nice memories! The heat here is rather ridiculous again but I'll take summer over winter any day.:)

ReplyDeleteNever had paper dolls- neat!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! And I'm glad you took care of poor Miss Amy. I get so angry with parents who don't dress their children appropriately for the weather!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
Those dolls are adorable! Love that you don't need the tabs.
ReplyDeleteIt is so good how you have preserved these little bits of history. She could wear her sweater here, down under, we have cooler weather now.
ReplyDeleteDarling blog oh my it take's me back... I loved paper doll's but never saw that kind....too cute.
ReplyDeleteLove,Debbie
Oh yes, I do remember paper dolls with the clingy clothes! My favorite paper doll was the Betsy McCall doll that was in the old McCall magazine. My grandma got that magazine and I got to cut out the clothes every month. Good memories.
ReplyDeleteJane
oh, I haven't seen these in forever! I used to love both these and the tab dolls. thanks for the fun memory!
ReplyDeleteOh! FUN! I do remember these. We weren't poor by any means, but my mother would buy me these as a little treat or surprise instead of a new doll. I loved them! :) I wish I had some of them now. sigh.... :)
