A collection of little daisies on one of my blue and white platters.
(Viking stoneware)
Oh no! I just saw that "Picnik" is going to close. That's were I frame, label and make mosaics for all the photos on my blog. So I will need to find a new photo play ground. Who do you use?
Love your daisies, and love that you shared your platter too.
ReplyDeleteI've experimenting with Pixlr. It has layers!
Gayle I can't believe that they are closing. What are we going to do? Such a shame. Love your pins. Such an affinity for these enamel pins. Just went to fabric recycle the other day and mentioned you...smiles...Renee
ReplyDeleteI use Photoshop Elements but don't really know what I'm doing. I have used Picasa, maybe that will work for you. - Love your sweet pins! xo
ReplyDeleteI use picnic, too -- I'm so bummed.
ReplyDeleteI'm completely smitten with your flower pins. I was surprised to see the news of Picnik too. I'll be doing some sleuthing.
ReplyDeleteYou are beyond my skill level but now you have me interested in bordering photos, etc. I will check back to see what you find.
ReplyDeleteCute pins. I use Lunapic, but not sure if it's similar to the one you've used.
ReplyDeleteThe daisy pins are beautiful. Also love the platter.
ReplyDeleteI just got Picnik figured out. Don't know what I'll do. Bet I'll be downloading a bunch before they are gone.
ReplyDeleteI love these things!! Have a happy day! Greetings Riitta Sinikka.
ReplyDeleteI love your daisies, but they are bearing bad news. Picnik is closing? It always charmed me! I'd be willing to pay to keep it. Wonder if that would help?
ReplyDeleteBut, I do think your daisies are adorable!
lovely brooches so pretty. I have never done a mosaic i would love to but im not great on the computer it has to be said. dee x
ReplyDeleteI never used Picnik, but it seems that many did and will miss it a lot. I always wondered how people framed their photos as you do. Now it's too late for me!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I'm pretty basic with just iPhoto & photoshop elements.
ReplyDeleteAre they really closing! Oh no! I have only discovered them this year and don't have Photoshop on my new lap top. Eeek!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are such fun daisy pins and I love the platter!
ReplyDeleteThose daisy brooches are so pretty! I too use Picnik all the time, not sure what to use now instead. I will have to search around, let me know if you find something.
ReplyDeleteYour daisies are so pretty! I love how their colours combine with the platter.
ReplyDeleteStephanie
The daisies are lovely. I use iPhoto and Picasa but I am trying to learn Aperture.
ReplyDeleteI'm really unhappy about Picnik. Signed a petition, not that it will make much difference. I did a post today about one alternative I've found.

I love the little pins - you have such interesting collections.
ReplyDeleteI've not used picnick - I found it confusing and hard to use. Mostly I use irfanview - but haven't tried to do frames and such on it - just edit the photos - it is easy and straightforward.
Love your pins and the pretty blue and white platter. The pins remind me of my mom as she loved daisies and had a pin like the second one from the left.
ReplyDeleteI got an e-mail from Picnik this morning and deleted it thinking it was Spam. I couldn't believe that they were closing. I have been using them and loving it for collages. I hate when they change things :(.
pretty pins!
ReplyDeleteYour little pins are such a touch of summer during these cold, snowy days. And your blue and white china reminds me of my Mother-in-law...it was one of her favorite patterns. I have some very tiny little pieces.
ReplyDeleteWill be interested to follow along as people suggest replacement to Picnik. Have been wanting to do more with my basic photo set up and don't know where to go.
I use Picasa at home and Snapfire at work.
ReplyDeleteLove your enamel pins. They were so big when I was a kid. Not sure I have any anymore, but I bet I do. I never get rid of anything.
I really have a wonderful pin collection. When I had to "dress" for work I always wore a pin on my lapel. I kept all the cutsey pins I bought for my daughter too.
I like fotoflexer although it took me a while to get the hang of it. I love your pins and platter, a nice piece of cheerfulness on a cold winters day!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mickie
Cute pins...gorgeous platter!
ReplyDeleteI'll be watching for answers on the Picnik dilema. I don't use it as much as you do, fut often use it for my header.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pins, so delicate and the colours are stunning.
ReplyDeleteI use either Photoscape or Picasa for mosaics/collages and Ashampoo Photo Commander for frames/borders, it all depends what I need.
Lovely daisies. I think you are collecting many things!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh the daisies are just so cute, esp with your blue and white china. I just want to keep looking at them. So charming.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...talk about eye candy...those are gorgeous against the dish
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful platter! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSue
I have a bright pink daisy; I wear it sometimes on a navy jacket. You certainly have some beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on the 366 challenge, little by little. I mentioned it in my blog, but thinking I didn't type in the correct address.
Those vintage daisy pins are so pretty! I could see one of them on a winter wool coat to add some whimsy and cheer up a dull, cold winter day.
ReplyDeleteI hated to hear that about Picnik! I use it all the time. I should have known...just when you get used to something, they change it or eliminate it.
ReplyDeleteBah Humbug! (sorry, I just had to say it)
These are oh so pretty Gayle. I can't decide which I like most.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I've never used any photo framing. Your blog always has such a distinctive look - hope you find something similar you enjoy using.
Oh how sweet your little daisy plate is all dressed up!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!!!
Sorry...closin' already??? I haven't heard, I do need to get out more!
God bless and have a beautiful week sweetie!!! :o)
Thank you ALL for your suggestions on photo editing! I will have to take a look at each one and figure out what will work best for me.
ReplyDeleteYour pins are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI didn't use Picnik often but it was nice when I needed it. I use Picasa most of the time. I am hoping that Picasa will inherit the features that Picnik made available.
These daisies are fabulous....and that platter is divine!
ReplyDeleteGayle-LOVE your daisies...of course :) Thanks so much for your nice comments about my weight loss. I need all of the encouragement I can get! I am SO sad about Picnik too. I don't own Photoshop of anything like it...what to do, what to do?
ReplyDeleteYour daisy's are just adorable, and of course I just love your blue and white platter...hope your having a great day...
ReplyDeleteHow about Picmonkey or Pixlr-o-matic for quick photo editing?
