I agree..the decorations are just decorations. Making room for Jesus in your heart and life is the real joy and path to peace everyday. It is nice that the world focusses on Him in December though, He's worth it!
The decorations are beautiful - all of them, all the different styles, all the different themes - so long as we remember that they are all part of the celebration of the Birth of the Saviour.
I utterly agree. This year we are keeping things so, so simple to teach the children, who are willing to learn, that gifts and glitter are superficial. We will be looking inside ourselves and reaching out to each other this Christmas.
Our middle son is the Acolyte during the Advent service at our church. It is his first time. Last week he was so nervous but to see the pastors talk to him and calm his fears meant so much. It is my favorite season. Beautiful ornaments and buildings...smiles...Renee

ReplyDeleteI love the little church ornaments. So pretty. I've been a bit slow with the blogging of late, but I'm still here :)
ReplyDeleteI saw this quote recently on Pinterest: "Each of us is an Innkeeper who decides if there is room for Jesus."
