Enjoying some tea in the pretty teacups my sister just sent to me.

And super easy to make.

Magic Cookie Bars
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 package graham crackers, crushed (inside package, not the entire box)
1 cup chopped nuts (I use pecans)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 and 1/3 cup coconut
1 can sweetened condensed milk (15 oz)
Directions:
Pour melted butter into the bottom of a 9x13 baking pan.
Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs evenly onto butter and pat down just a tiny bit.
Sprinkle on nuts, chocolate and finally coconut.
Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top of everything.
Bake in 350 oven for 25 minutes, until very lightly browned on top.
Allow to cool for 15 minutes before cutting.
Cut into squares.
Notes:
These will store nicely in a tin, with waxed paper between layers.
I love bar cookies like this because they all bake in one pan.

This recipe used to be on the back of the can of sweetened condensed milk.

ReplyDeleteA tea friend gave it to me saying I would use it more
than she would. I thought it was a beautiful gift.
Your cookies look oh so good. Thanks for visiting me.
What a sweet friend to share such a lovely gift with you.
DeleteBeautiful tea cup treasures! We used to make those magic cookies... and would label the outside of the tin with a different cookie name so all the cookie monsters in our family would not eat them all at once. Alas, they weren't fooled for long!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I should have mislabeled the tins years ago.
DeleteI love your pretty and delicate teacups! I make those bars also and they are yummy! Perfect with a cup of tea!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandy!
DeleteThe tea cups are precious - and I can see why those are your son's favorite cookie.
ReplyDeleteHe is our cookie monster.
DeleteThe tea cups are very pretty and a sweet gift from your sister! I haven't ever made the cookie bars, I'm going to have to try them. Happy New Year!

Having a cup of tea in a pretty cup is one of the best ways to take a wee break from the day. Just a few minutes and a few pennies.
DeleteThose cookies look yummy!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your tea was delightful
in your new cups.
M : )
They are so good, Melinda, you have to try them!
DeleteSuch pretty tea cups. Such yummy looking cook bars. Perhaps, they might even be enjoyed at breakfast!
ReplyDeleteI can assure you that my son has enjoyed them for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. But don't get me started on how growing boys seem to inhale food like a vacuum cleaner.....
