This was my lunch today.
A tomato from a friend's farm garden,
sliced onto whole wheat bread
and garnished with basil from my yard.
Add some ranch dressing and fresh cracked pepper and viola!!
Oh so good!
What was on the menu at your house?
That looks much better than my PB&J sandwich. My tomatoes are still green, but once they ripen I will be trying your sandwich idea. My basil is doing great.
ReplyDeleteI think it will taste even better on that pretty plate :).
Farm fresh tomatoes are great in any way shape or form!
ReplyDeleteNow that shouts 'summer'! so fresh, so juicy, so perfect!
ReplyDeleteThis looks sooooo good to me! I know the basil smelled so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like a big, juicy tomato, homegrown of course, to make a sandwich great.
ReplyDeleteWe have only kale from our garden at this point, but we are enjoying it. xo
I always have to have at least one fresh tomato sandwich every summer:@)
ReplyDeleteI am drooling. Missing my tomatoes this year. Nothing better than homegrown. Yum..smiles..Renee
ReplyDeleteNOTHING tastes as wonderful as fresh food from the garden and farms. NOTHING.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sandwich and I am lovin`the blue china.
ReplyDeleteSince it is still cool and cloudy here today I had a nice bowl of homemade chicken with rice soup, and some crackers. On warm days (if we ever have any) I love a tomato sandwich.
ReplyDeletePerfection.
ReplyDeleteI like BLT's too.
Tonight I'm making fresh artichokes and guyere omlettes. And fresh tomatoes sliced.
You're tomatoes are redder than mine though~ there is nothing like homegrown warm from the garden.
good eats!

YUM!!! I think our tomatoes are coming to a close...wish I had more of them.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so fresh and yummy. I'll bet it was delish!
ReplyDeleteAhhh....Summer tomatoes...sweet and fresh! And, I'll bet your sandwich tasted twice as nice served on your pretty blue plate!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Carolynn xo
If you have a minute, I'd love it if you popped in to my blog to see my "Blueware" post. I have some of your same dishes and I just love them!
YUM!! Nothing like "real" tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteI Deeply appreciate your prayers for my BFF. It's shock and we know that God is in control...
warmly,
deb
That looks a healthy and juicy lunch. My tomatoes are just popping up out of the ground. Hopefully I'll have some nice ones in summer. That is if the bugs don't get them first. I had a ham, cheese, tomato, cucumber and lettuce sandwich with wholegrain bread.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so tasty. You can't beat the taste of homegrown tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like a fresh tomato from the garden! I haven't had one yet this summer.
ReplyDeleteYummy!!

What a beautiful sandwich. Our poor vegetable garden has taken a royal beating with the drought and the constant animals scavenging for food.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, am I LOVING "real" tomatoes here! They were so colorless and tasteless in Las Vegas!
ReplyDeleteHow funny . . . I also love to eat tomatoes like this, AND I eat them on my LIBERTY BLUE china!!! This photo looks like you were in my kitchen!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog. Beautiful taste in dishes!
