Little Houses

My best friend and I  spent the afternoon browsing around an antiques store and look what we found-  Sweet little doll houses!    Aren't these all adorable?

I already have a cute little blue dollhouse, from when I was a girl (see picture below), but I might have to go back and get another one!

They also had some cute furniture.  I meant to take lots more pictures, but somehow this is the only photo of furniture I got.   I might have to go back and see if this one is still there.

And there was a wonderful little cottage rug.  Soooo cute!

And last but not least, they had little cottage teapots!  Someday, one of these will have to join my teapot collection.

Be sure to check back later this week for more photos.  You will not believe the shenanigans we two girls got up to.  And that's all I'm going to say about that right now.

I am joining Laurie for Favorite Things Saturday.   Be sure to stop by and see all the Saturday favorites!

  4. Oh these doll houses are cute. That one large one with the red roof is so much like mine from my childhood, in fact I still have it. I'm sure it's from the same era and that would be the 40's.

  8. These are so adorable! My grandmother had a dollhouse that I loved to play with...she recently gave it to me as a kind of pre-emptive inheritance and I couldn't have been happier.

I can't wait to here about the rest of your crazy weekend!

  15. That took me back to the Christmas that I was eight years old and found a doll house under the tree - bliss! What a lovely post - you visit the most interesting shops. I'd love to tag along after you!

  16. Your "favorite things" are mine too! Those doll houses are so adorable, and so is yours!! I have a passion for miniatures, so your post is such a delight. You must go back and get that sweet little hutch. Imagine all the fun you will have filling it with dishes or whatever! The tea pot also is just too cute. I hope that one day you will write a post about your own doll house and that you will show the interior.

    Love,

  20. It sounds like maybe you and your friend were naughty at the antique store! And what great things they had in that store. Please go back and get that first house, with the pink shutters, so that I can visit it on your blog! Also, I think you need that little green cupboard too!
    Happy Sunday!

  28. Hello Gayle,
I just wanted to come by and thank you for stopping this morning for a visit.

I understand what you are saying about enjoying teaching Sunday School class. I've taught both teen girls and the little beginners class...can't decide which I enjoy the most, but for now the need is the little beginners class.

I, too, know what you are saying about still being in touch with your kids...and watching as they form their own families. There are very few that I don't still hear from as well. They even look me up on Facebook! I'm so grateful for that continued blessing.

I keep meaning to tell you that I have checked out all of the organizations that you shared with me a month or so ago. Now I'm just praying over them until I have clear direction from the Lord. Thank you so much for your input and your prayers for me, Gayle.

I have to tell you that the cheesecake received RAVE reviews from family and friends here. We shared a few pieces with close friends, my father-in-law and enjoyed the remainder ourselves! Every time my dh would have a piece he would always finish with, "that surely is a good cheesecake!" That is one recipe that will become a tradition in our family...along with the Easter tradition of the lamb cinnamon rolls. And I do wish that we lived close enough for you to have come by for a piece, some tea and uplifting conversation. You've become very special to me, Gayle. I hope you know that. Thank you for all that you've done for me.

  31. I could swear that the dollhouse in the 2nd photo is exactly like the one I had as a little girl!! Wow, the great memories I have playing with my little family. I was never one for baby dolls as much as playing 'dollhouse'. Hmmmm...wonder what that says about me!

Thanks for stopping by!! I really appreciate your kind comments! :-)
