My baby in blue.
As you know from some of my previous posts, a wee bit of nuttiness runs in our family! These pictures were taken when my son was still in elementary school. (6th grade I think.) He is now at University and probably would be embarrassed to know that I showed these to everybody!
The Country Club Plaza, a beautiful shopping district designed to look like Seville, Spain.

The Plaza lit up for the holidays.

Midweek Blues at The Dusty Cellar.
Thank you Jenny and Rebecca for hosting!
The Plaza Penguin dancing is adorable. So nice the Penguin found a dance partner! Yes, he probably would be embarrassed but only if his friends were to see them!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking a little blue this week.
Perfect! Oh you are going to be in trouble!
ReplyDeleteI am forbidden to post family pics..:(
Happy Mother's Day from Long Island!
Love the photos :) hope you are having a lovely week xx
ReplyDeleteOh how this Missouri gal enjoyed the dance of the Penguins and how your son hammed it up with 'em. The Plaza is a marvelous place to visit any time of year.
ReplyDeleteYa'll have a wonderfully blessed day!!!
Gosh I'm so glad that you're a little mad. I would be worried if all bloggers were sane! Your son looked as though he was thoroughly enjoying himself and if he's at university he probably gets up to similar things again now...mine did.
ReplyDeleteJenny x
I love those Penguins!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool place, and looks like the penguins are popular. Love the Christmas -time lighting!! My guys are always saying that the WWW is going to know more about them than the government!!! lol.. HUGS
ReplyDeleteI do love those penguins - wish we had them here where I live - they'd cheer up the middle of the town! xx
ReplyDeleteYou found the PERFECT model for dancing with the POLKA PENGUIN.
ReplyDeleteI know this place very well.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of the dancing!
Melinda
What a neat place! I love the penguins. What approachable, friendly sculptures!
ReplyDeleteI love penguins, so the sculptures are a wonder to me
ReplyDeleteyour son is a good kid to pose like that
my son always ran when I got the camera out :)
How fun! I also love the plaza...Doc and I had our first date at the Plaza on Thanksgiving night (the big holiday light turn-on). The Lights photo is exactly how I remember it in my mind's eye!!
ReplyDeleteHILARIOUS. Loved the dancing with the penguin. Still smiling.
ReplyDeleteHe sure has a great sense of humour. I just love those penguins and the plaza looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun post, public art is meant to be enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfectly fun post! Thanks for sharing. Anne
ReplyDeleteCute pics of the dancing penguins!(and cute kid, too)! We were initially focused in the Seattle area--primarily Magnolia neighborhood, but have decided to over on the coast, and consider doing a split week, and just keeping a tiny apartment in the city. I love the Plaza-- in our Fort Riley days, that was my favorite "day trip"!
ReplyDeleteWhat great public place art!
ReplyDeleteAre you ready for your son's horror when he learns that you didn't just share these photos, but posted them for the world to see? Of course, none of his friends would ever recognize him - love his attitude in these shots!
Isn't it wonderful how we embarrass our adult children? I've just completed the poster board of photos for my son's wedding on Friday evening...there are some shots he'll be a little embarrassed to see. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of those "embarrassing" photos of my sons-I asked the youngest[he's in med schl] the other week what I should do with all the naked ones! these days they would probably be considered very bad,LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun :-) I'm sure he would be embarrassed now, but he looks like he's enjoying the camera at age 12!
ReplyDeleteMary
Adorable! I'm sure he would cringe if he knew these were up, but I'm so glad you shared them. The Penguin Plaza is really neat, and that looks like a lovely area. Thanks for the big smile this morning. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI love the dancing pictures. I had to chuckle when you said your son might not like you showing the pictures now. My daughter is the same age and I can just hear her now "MOTHER!!"
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my blog. I haven't posted my P post yet....ack.
That was very cute! My son I think may do the same, maybe if no one was around....looked like a fun day,
ReplyDeletePictures like these are what moms are for!
ReplyDeleteLoved those photos of your son dancing with the penguins.
ReplyDeleteNo email was attached to your comment so I'm stopping by to say thanks. And, of course, to check out your Jenny link.
I love the polka but I think your right it looks more like the tango LOL. Love the penguin plaza. The whole place looks like a magnificent place to visit.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the sites through Alphabe-Thursday. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAh I adore these shots.
ReplyDeleteYou will particularly enjoy my post tomorrow which will feature my own two nutters. :)
Oh, I love those penguins! How cute that your son was dancing with them!
ReplyDeleteWowee! What a gorgeous place! I wanna go there!
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome young man you have. I think as his mom, you have earned the right to embarrass him once in a while. LOL! Great blog!
xoxo,
Kim
Great photos. That is neat how they made that plaza look like part of Spain. Cute penguin.
ReplyDeleteNuttiness is good. Love the penguins thanks for popping in
ReplyDeleteThe dancing rates a ten from me. I like how he took the lead.
ReplyDeleteSo cute...
ReplyDeleteYou may be in trouble!
love the penguin polka - so fun :D
ReplyDeleteDo you have contact info here somewhere? Your comments aren't linked to an email address.
ReplyDeleteYou asked how I had time to do the craziness? I don't! Memes and are just about done. I may need help.
I think you need to get those photos blown up really big and get them ready for your son's wedding, it never hurts to be prepared! I adore penguins and would have to have hubby take lots of photos of me with them! When we went to Boston I had to take lots of photos of me with the brass duckling sculptures from "Make Way For Ducklings". I think these sculptures are so unique and special!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of the dancing penguin! That is SO something that someone in my family would do!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post...that place looks cool...great choice for your "P" post...Peace and blessings
ReplyDeletei love that your son had the self confidence to dance with those penguins!
ReplyDeleteThose photos are just too cute! Your son really looks like he is in step with the penguins!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you lost your vintage blue tile. Were were able to fix our tub faucet and replace 6 tiles with creamy white ones that matched the trim. So now it looks like we highlighted that area, at least that's what I keep telling myself!
Hugs,
Dawn
Public Plaza Penguins cavorting with a family member who will be phurious!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
Such a fun stop on Alphabe-Thursday's letter "P"!
Thanks for sharing this perfect prelude to an annoyed son!
A+
Those are neat penguins for sure. Of course the kid is no slouch either.
ReplyDeleteI think all parents should have pictures like this to hold over the heads of their kids.
Happy MidWeek Blues! Thank you for peeking in on us and passing out a little cheer. Actually Adi did just have a bath, it was for KP coming to our home for the week. She doesn't get to have chocolate. In fact she knows the word chocolate and leaves if I tell her that what I am eating is chocolate. :)
..
oh how fun those penguins are, wouldn't they just be the best things to have in a grand garden, I would love to dance with them :) I was just thinking how spanish the plaza looked, we are actually going to visit Seville this Summer! Hugs, Catherine x
ReplyDeleteI think you might get into a bit of trouble but you have an excuse this weekend-it's Mothers Day and you can do whatever you want!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliments regarding the iris...I've only done one show and that a very long time ago...I can't seem to get enough ahead to have a show...It's easy to unload my work cuz it's free! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud about your butter!

This is way cute. Your son must have a great sense of fun (and rhythm). I like your alliteration. I think penguins are quite in fashion these days. And the plaza looks like a wonderful place to shop. Thanks for the enjoyable post.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely sculptures! Will be flying in to KC airport in June - maybe we'll get time to visit the plaza - I'll have to add it to my list!
