I love all the beautiful and creative cards sent by family and friends. It is always wonderful to hear the latest news and see how children and grandchildren have grown. I also appreciate wishes sent via e-mail and facebook, but don't think they will ever replace that special feeling of finding an envelope in the mailbox and ripping into it to find a handwritten note from a special friend.
So, I'm curious, how many of you send cards each year? I posted nearly 100. (I should add that I have a large extended family and have moved a few times, so my list gets big pretty quickly.)
92! Oh you must have so many wonderful friends. A-M xx
ReplyDeleteI didn't count, but it is such fun to open & read them ... altho this year we've only had (1) note to read. :(
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas ~

We share the same excitement, Gayle. But I receive only one actual card so far :( most are electronic greetings, well that's fine, too! Maybe it is so because I haven't mailed my cards for friends yet, haha!
ReplyDeleteHaven't gotten that far. Everyone may be getting an "after Christmas" card.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll get to 92 though.

Oh, I am soooo ashamed... I haven't even mailed mine yet!!!! YIKES! I need to get that done, RIGHT NOW, huh?! :}
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much for popping by my place today, you are very sweet!
I think that the vintage Santa bag is really cute, what a great way to display all of your treasured sentimental cards!
Have a beautiful Christmas!

Oh Gayle I just love receiving the good old fashioned "snail mail" too...especially at Christmas! I haven't gotten around to sending out my cards yet...hopefully tomorrow...at least I better. But you always get a few stragglers after Christmas Day!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind comments about my "Stocking Story". It meant a great deal to me. I felt some tears roll down my cheeks as I wrote it!
Merry Christmas, Carrie
I have become one of your "official followers"!
We received our first Christmas e-card this year! I was a little disappointed, I have to admit. I sent out about 50 cards. Wow! 92 is a lot! I scrolled down to another post and your tree is beautiful. Merry Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteI am sooo glad to hear that there are others out there who still love the old way of communicating thru the mail. I love sending and getting Christmas cards and like to display each and every greeting that I get for the holiday. I hang them all around the door in my kitchen so that I can enjoy them each day. There is something so special about knowing that others have been thinking of me and have taken the time to sit down and write to me. I like to take special time to choose my Xmas cards, cuz I think they say so much about a person. HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and yours, Gayle, ~~ Debby
ReplyDeleteGuilty, I have only sent a few, since most of my family members are overseas!
ReplyDeleteI just send a care package to be distributed among them!
Here's wishing you the merriest Christmas!
