You've probably seen some of these pillows in past posts.
They are found in several different rooms around my house.
A wee bit of ric-rac, lace, chenille or gingham
can quickly turn damaged, vintage linens into cute scatter pillows.
Embroidered kitty-cats, birds and flowers are my favorites motifs to use.
How do you use vintage linens in your home?

Note:
I did not do the embroidery work myself. But I did sew several of the pillows.
What a lovely collection. I have a few special vintage pillows that I've picked up (I wish I could do embroidery). Lately, I've noticed those special pillows have made their way to Emma's window seat!
ReplyDeleteThey're gorgeous! To my mind one of the best ways of enjoying vintage embroideries and fabrics, no matter how small the piece.
ReplyDeleteAnd yours look lovely massed together - thanks for sharing!

Very nice vintage pillow collection. Someone did some beautiful embroidery . . . like the animals in the middle pillow.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh! I've been wondering what I can do with mine instead of leaving them in a box in a shelf. Love this idea.
ReplyDeleteOh those pillows are so darling. I haven't used vintage linens for pillows yet - but I will now, for sure. I have been wanting to change something in my bedroom, and this is the perfect thing.
ReplyDeleteI just love them been thinking to do something like this as well I have a couple of linens where they wore out but the embroidery is still in tack..Happy Thursday with love Janice
ReplyDeleteThey are all so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI would like to sew some, they add such cheer to a home.
What a sweet, sweet idea. I particularly love the one in the top right corner. I like to use vintage linen to make cushions too, but haven't done so for quite some time.
ReplyDeleteThey are sweet! They are so happy! I keep thinking I should make some with my linen "scraps"...haven't done that, yet!
ReplyDeleteWarmly,

Let's see...I fold mine up and put them on a shelf! But I may be decide to make some of these for new covers for some of my 'many' throw pillows. I've made pillows of every size and shape so making covers from old linens is a great idea! thanks for sharing! I'm SO ready for a change!
ReplyDeleteNow I know I need to dust off my sewing machine. Your pillows are so pretty! I keep my linens folded up in a drawer and often wonder what to do with them. Now I know! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI use usemy tablecloths on a variety of occasions. Everything else gets used here and there.
ReplyDeleteM :)
These are lovely uses for vintage linens. I love embroidered pieces! I use runners on bedroom dressers and little tables here and there in the house. Thanks for showing these.
ReplyDeleteI think these leave such a wonderful nostalgic look to where ever you place them, very very sweet❤
ReplyDeleteThey are all so sweet, especially that kitty!!! Have a lovely weekend!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea-- well done too! I use vintage linens for their intended purpose! Although I have used a few recently to make the trendy "hoop art" pictures (there are a couple in my Etsy shop and other nice examples there).
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet way to use the otherwise slightly spoiled vintage linens! I love the bird ones, especially!
ReplyDeleteLove your pillows. What a great idea to bring new life to vintage linens.
ReplyDeleteMost of mine are in drawers :(.
I love these! Great way to use the linens :) Hugs, Mickie
ReplyDeleteThose are precious! My Grandmother did beautiful embroidery. Unfortunately my Mother didn't appreciate the work, so it was given to my Aunts!
ReplyDeletethose are so pretty
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for vintage linens! Not that I can sew...but for someone who does. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love vintage linens.....I love them everywhere....but one thing I do is I always have a tablecloth on the table and sometime I change it out three times a day....depending how messy the hubby and kids are.....Heidi
ReplyDeleteI love stuff like this! I'm glad I'm not the only one who makes them, too!
ReplyDeleteOh so cute! Maybe I can try my hand at this now that I know how to sew with fabric glue! ♥
ReplyDeleteI mentioned YOU on my blog today! I hope you get a chance to come by and visit! Sweet hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Gayle, You have a beautiful selection of vintage linens. I love how you have turned them into gorgeous cushions. I have collected quite a few embroidered pieces over the years and I want to turn them into a crazy quilt. I just need to collect a few more.
ReplyDeleteA project for the future.
Have a lovely weekend.
Best Wishes
Daphne
