Piglet Cutting Boards

What has a curly tail and a cute little snout?

Why a little piglet cutting board, of course.

Did you grow up with one of these in your kitchen?

My first piggy board came from  Mrs. E.,
the little old lady who lived next door to my grandparents.
(third one down in the collage)

The other three were found here and there.
Oink!  Oink!

Each board is unique.
Look at the differences in the eyes, ears, snout and tail.
Some are fatter than others.  Some are smiling.
One day I hope to have enough wooden piggy boards to make a border
on the wall above my kitchen table.

Me.  The girl who loved little pigs.
(My Dad took this picture of me.)

  3. I have one that I picked up thrifting and just this morning at the breakfast table I looked at it and suggested to my husband that he might consider making some. Mine is different than any of yours, I had no idea they came in so many shapes...How fun!

  14. I have a piglet chopping board which I have had for many years. I helped teach my children not to cut on the work surfaces as they loved using it.

  15. Cute! My Grandma is a "pig" collector, but I don't think she has one of these...I could be wrong. I was thinking how much "Happier than a Pig..." would love these and then I saw her comment! How 'bout that! ; )

  21. I love those cutting boards. We use them for a "guest book" and have people sign them when they come to dinner. We have two at the moment. One we got and used after we remodeled our kitchen in Maine. Then when we moved we got another one. We also gave one to our daughter to use in her new home.
I suppose we could use them as their intended purpose but don't want to miss up the stuff on the back. Our pigs are vintage ones.

  30. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. That was so nice of you to do. And.....your pig cutting boards are cute...and a border of them for your wall would be really special! My great grandmother had a border of plates on a plate rail that ran around the kitchen. I must have been all of 5 years old back then, but never have forgotten that.

  31. Yes! My mother had a pig cutting board given to her by her sister, my aunt. I made one when I was a senior in high school in a woodworking clsass, and still have it after all these years.
