There Is Magic In A Pot of Tea

It's gray and rainy outside today.  Take one  English Sadler teapot with a cheerful blue and yellow design.  (Found it last week at a local thrift store for only $4.00)  Add one Royal Albert Forget-Me-Not teacup, a pile of favorite old magazines to read again, and just a touch of spring flowers. (Embroidered and crocheted vintage doily also found at the thrift store for $1.00).

Nothing seems gray anymore.  There is magic in a pot of tea.
Hope you are having a lovely afternoon!

  2. I love tea pots. I collect them for our monthly tea parties with the granddaughters. Your scarf looks very similar to one we used at the party and bought at a garage sale. Blessings. Gloria

  5. The forget me not teacup is very pretty. Tea time surely does blue up those cloudy skies. We have a lot to be thankful for. Thank you for sharing and commenting on my blog.

  6. There must be SOME kind of magic since so many people love to drink it! The British can't live without it as part of a daily routine ya know... Kind of like a fourth mini-meal...lol. I have gotten a taste for an orange rind spice blend. Your teapot and thrift finds are wonderful. Thanks for sharing. Hope the sun comes out! Hugs.

  12. Wonderful photos. I used to have that same teacup but it got broken and I've not found another. I grew up in Alaska and the State Flower is the Forget-me-not. Tomorrow is going to be rainy - I think I'll make a pot of tea and slice some cranberry/pecan shortbread and bake a pan of it. I keep a roll of the dough in the fridge for just that ocassion.

  17. A good cup of tea ...ahhh...nothing like it! I love your tea pot and other thrift store finds! The embroidery work is so pretty.

Thank you for your note concerning Ellen's teaching job. I think teachers across this nation of ours are being let go. I know they are in Maine and here in WV as well. Makes us so grateful to the Lord that He saw fit to bless Ellen with this job. She'd applied to several places, but this was her first choice! :)

I also wanted to check in to see your m-i-l is doing. Hope that things are going better for her.

    Take care, my friend!

  18. How delightful that you came to visit me at The Vintage Rose. I see we both love teapots and fine china. Isn't it gorgeous to drink out of alovely cup and saucer. I used to have 'forget me nots'. I will check the china cabinet to see if I still have it or gave it away.

  19. I always feel like I've missed something by not drinking hot tea. Being from Texas, I grew up that tea was Lipton, over ice, no matter what the weather. I love the teapot - so pretty!!! I need to adopt the hot tea idea, just so I can collect the pots!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!!!

  20. Gayle, thank you for letting me know about your mother-in-law. I am so sorry that things aren't better. I will remember your husband. We went through this three years ago. It is a hard time, but I will be praying for strength and grace for the family.

  22. Love the teapot -- lucky you! I drink tea every single afternoon -- even when it's hot, hot, hot here (which is way too often!). But you're so right, there is magic in a pot of tea -- something so soothing, relaxing, & nourishing to body & soul about tea time, isn't there?

  23. So pretty! You are so right about magic in a pot of tea. Just making tea is a soothing ritual, I think. Add favorite magazines and lovely embroidery and it is definitely spirit-lifting on a grey day.

  28. My last job required me to travel to North Carolina periodically and I fell in love with sweet tea while visiting there. That was 10 years ago or so. We didn't start having sweet tea available here until about 3-4 years ago. Who knew there was something Texas didn't have ;-)

  29. There is something very pleasing about a teapot. And just $4, what a steal. Now I feel like fixing a cup of tea myself.

  32. Too too right! There's no magic in a cup with a tea bag hanging from a string - but a pot, heated, filled with fragrant tea and shared with a friend, well that's pure magic!
