Storms Rumbling and Frogs Singing

We had another storm rumble through here tonight.   We knew it was coming because the sky started to turn dark and the frogs started to sing.   Yesterday morning we had some small hail.   All normal spring weather here.

Our Bradford Pear tree is in bloom.  Pee-ew!  (It looks beautiful, but does not smell good.)   The Eastern Red Bud is covered in purpley-pink blooms and the Lilac buds are about ready to burst!   I LOVE this time of year!

Four more blocks completed for  the embroidery challenge  , and only four more to go.  What am I going to do when this project is finished?  I need a new craft project to work on!!  Something portable, that I can take with me to craft club.  Quilting doesn't travel.

  1. Garden of Daisies, and what a pretty name for a blog. Thanks for stopping by, and leaving such a lovely comment.

I used to embroider, sigh...but never seem to have the time for it lately. Well, and I need to get progressive lenses, so I guess that could be a problem also.

Anyways, I will stop by again one day to say hi.

  3. I just adore your squares. I collect green depression glass - I know, not quite the same as the vaseline color. It's hard to find.

  5. I really love your new blocks...all just beautiful. I, too, am wondering what I will do when this little project is finished...it has been such fun, and I have loved checking out everyone's work, and being inspired by all the new blogs (like yours) that I have found.
Have a great day, and thanks so much for visiting me :)

  7. Our frogs are singing here, also, Gayle! Love it because when we hear them we know spring is here!

Your quilt blocks are beautiful. I don't collect the green depression glassware, even though I think it is beautiful. I have my grandmother's pink though!

Looking forward to seeing your quilt when it is all finished.

  9. I love seeing your embroidery blocks. I usually complain that spring is cold and wet and a lot like winter, but with more mud. But it's been so gorgeous and HOT! Can't complain about that.

  13. I had no idea that Bradford pear trees were stinky when in bloom! They're so lovely that I've always wished I had room in my yard for one. Now that I know they reek, I don't feel so bad!
    Your blocks are just lovely!

  15. Darling embroidery blocks. I love them all and yes, I love Depression Glass in all the colors it came in. That quilt block embroidery is so clever. You could start another embroidery project - maybe embroider blocks to incorporate into a quilt?
The Jacaranda tree is really good. I'm doing the 39 blocks, too. About thru. Happy REDnesday~

  18. I love this time of year too! It's too bad it is so fragile. One freeze too many, too much rain or too much wind and it is all gone. Each day is a gift! Beautiful embroidery work :)

  19. Gorgeous!

Our Bradford pear is in full bloom but we also have an apple blossom blooming so it masks the smell! Our red buds are in full bloom. No lilacs here but they are my favorite flower and scent!
