WOW...what lovely work you do. I'm glad you do hand stitching. My mother-in-law has done some really pretty quilts. She especially enjoyed doing the applique ones. I'll have to take pictures and post so you can see the ones she's made for us. Her hand stitching around the edges of the appliqued pieces looks like it was done by a machine. Quilting was something that I always said, "I'll learn to do that one day"...and my MIL was willing to show me, but now she's gone and I'm so sorry I didn't learn the craft from her. Your quilts remind me so much of hers. I like the tulip one, especially! And the one you did for the auction. Take care and have a wonderful remainder of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh that is so beautiful - I love and admire it! Congrats, it must feel great to have completed that project.
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow! Kep saying wow ... they are so beautiful!

Carolien
Sorry, I meant to write: I keep saying wow ...
ReplyDeleteBye, Carolien
Your quilts are beautiful! The baby quilts are wonderful keepsakes and I'm sure they were appreciated by the recipients. I especially like the first baby quilt, it's a work of art!
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely! I have two quilt tops I need to finish - one I'm quilting by hand and the other is a big queen size that I have to baste - Unfortunately, I'm finding it hard to get going. Thanks for the inspiration.

Well done! They are beautiful. I've had a fun time looking at the posts I've missed over the past week. I love needlework too - I've done stockings for everyone in the family as well as pillows and the odd chair seat. It's so satisfying to watch the pattern emerge, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteLove the quilts, they are beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteSuch incredible quilts! How talented you are!
ReplyDeleteSooo talented...each quilt is lovely...I love those embroidered tea towels too...they are so adorable!

ReplyDeleteI wanted to stop by to thank you for the kind words you left when you stopped by earlier today. They truly are an encouragement to me. Glad you like the new look around my blog, too! That was FUN! One of the advantages of the new computer (once I finally figured out how to make the best use of it :0) ! There are a few other things I'd like to do, but it may take a while to get them accomplished!
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are very lovely.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the first one.
Thanks for visiting my blog and for your nice comment :)

Wow -- luck friends. And clue me in: what auction?
ReplyDeleteGosh, I'm so impressed! I wish we lived in the same town so that I could take quilting lesson's from you (that is if you wanted to teach, of course) ~smile~ I have a great desire to learn but I just don't know where to begin. It seems overwhelming. How did you learn?
ReplyDeleteYou do beautiful quilts!! I always admire quilting, just wish I had the patience and the know how:) Thanks for stopping by my blog!!~

ReplyDeleteThere is nothing nicer than curling up in a homemade quilt that has been made with loving hands.
Thanks for wishing my sister a Happy Birthday.

Oh darn - I live only about 40 miles or so from the auction site, but I'll be in eastern Washington taking care of my mom after she has shoulder replacement surgery. The auction is for a good cause and you're an angel to have made something so beautiful for the cause.
ReplyDeleteI used to love to quilt. However..I never did it to the extent that you do it and for wonderful reasons! I love that.
ReplyDeleteQuilts of love is what you do. Beautiful quilts of love.
Beautiful quilts, I so admire anyone with the talent, skill & patience to create quilts.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is amazing.
~Maggie~
Oh, your little quilts are beautiful! Twyla
ReplyDeleteI love your 4-patch quilts! I'm crazy about bars quilts and made a slew of them a few years ago-something I want to get back to.
ReplyDeleteYour little blue quilt is lovely!
wow! what beautiful quilts you have made. i would love to learn to do them but they just look too confusing for simple minded me!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous. When I win the lottery I'm gonna see if you will make me an amish quilt with the black and the jewel tones. Your work is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are absolutely beautiful. I have always admired all of the work that goes into quilting. My mother has made several and I have contemplated starting one but have never taken the big step to get started.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog tonight.
Jane
our wall hanging turned out delightfully & I love the baby quilt with black background & stars!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts. Love the various shades of blue.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely quilts. Great colours. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a kind comment.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts! I can see that you really like blue. Thanks for following Porch Days. I agree with your comment about collecting too many things. We are house hunting and it makes me wish I didn't collect anything! I hate it when I look at a house and the first things everyone says is, "You are going to have to make some choices." Noooooo!
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are simply beautiful! Blue is your color isn't it? They are all so striking and stunning.. really dramatic.
