I stumbled across this wonderful old weathered quilt barn
on my way to my niece's wedding.
I haven't been able to locate this barn on the Quilt Trail map
but it was near Hillsboro, Ohio. (Brown or Highland Co?)
This starry block is sometimes called "Milky Way".
If you are from the southwest corner of Ohio and have more info,
please let me know.
Pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laurie! :-)
DeleteI love the quilt barns and have seen a few in our travels. What a neat photo with the day lily, too! Enjoy your day! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Those day lilies proved to be the perfect spot of color in the photo.
DeleteBeautiful sight to happen upon . . .
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trips here and there . . .
Second trip this month. Not much time to stay home and take care of my blog these days.
DeleteWhat a pretty place. It looks like a painting.

It would make a very pretty painting, wouldn't it?

DeleteHi Gayle! What a gorgeous picture! Neat barn and quilt pattern! Twyla
ReplyDeleteHi Twyla! We should meet up to go Barn hunting sometime in the fall. :-)
DeleteVery pretty! Love the lilies in the foreground too:@)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lynn. Yes, nature has a way of making everything extra beautiful.
DeleteStunning photo - so peaceful - and what contrast!
ReplyDeleteThank you, JoAnn. The peacefulness of this scene struck me, too.
DeleteThank you. You are sweet to say that.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. We have an area down on our coast-Tillamook-where the whole town has started painting quilt blocks on the buildings. It's so fun.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be able to see it! :-)
DeleteGreat photo....I know nothing about this pattern, but I did google search and found Amazon has a book titled, "The Milky Way Quilt (Patchwork made Easy).
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look for that book.
DeleteWhat a beautiful photo, hope someone can identify the barn for you.
ReplyDeleteNot so far.
DeleteVery pretty, Gayle. I still haven't done the ones nearby yet. The friend that I was going to do it with moved and is still getting settled in her new home. I'm hoping that we can still get to do it. Thanks so much for sharing this one with us.
ReplyDeleteI'd come with you if I lived near. :-)
DeleteSuch a stunning photo....perfect in every way!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful Gayle! I have missed seeing your posts! I hope you are doing well!!
ReplyDeleteI have been absent much longer than anticipated. Hope to do better with my posts now.
DeleteLovely photo.. love the barn.. Happy Thursday with love Janice
ReplyDeleteThank you, Janice!
DeleteLove the barn! I have been thinking about making a barn quilt for my new Art Barn. I really think that they are so pretty. Now, in a post a bit before this one you have crocheted little dresses hanging on a clothes line . . . they total took my breath away and reminded me of my dear sweet Mama. She used to make those and even made dresses for my dolls. Thank you for the memory:)
ReplyDeleteYour blogging sister, Connie :)
Oh I hope you do make a quilt for your barn! I love the way they look. Glad you enjoyed the little crocheted dresses. There are so many sweet things from days gone by that could easily be lost if we don't take care to preserve....
