Yesterday was so much fun!
I got to tag along on an adventure with Tami from Vintage Connections!
We stopped in at several antique/vintage/retro/gift shops, all of them new to me.
One was so huge, we only got through half of it.
(Yes, I do hope to go back and browse through the other half, very soon.)
I tend to gravitate towards retro/vintage rather than antique;
often things that remind me of my childhood.
So these are the little goodies that came home with me:
Pale blue gingham apron with smocking and ric-rac trim.
Long string of vintage mercury glass beads
Two Christmas tree brooches to add to my collection
Aluminum heart molds
Green and red felt/chenille/spun-head ornaments
Cornflower (Corning Ware) loaf pan
Thank you so much for making my Saturday so much fun, Tami!
I can't wait to get together again soon!

PS- Be sure to check back later this week.
I need to show you the sweet paperdolls that Tami gave to me.

Lovely reminders of a fun filled day, Gayle! Looking forward to what else you have to share this week!
ReplyDeleteShe is such a lovely person. You would like her.
DeleteI spy several things that are my favorites too! I have a weakness for mercury glass beads and
ReplyDeletespun-head ornaments. Looks like a perfect day!
There were probably more of them on the other side of the store. I tell you, I need to go back before Christmas!
DeleteLovely new goodies, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLove the little figures and your apron is beautiful! How great to find the bread pan, sounds like you had a fun day:@)
ReplyDeleteThere were two of the loaf pans... I might have to go back and see if the other one is still there.
DeleteThat little apron is sweet. I love the little pixies. What a fun day!
ReplyDeleteI thought they were darling! They fit right in with the other decor that is on my Christmas tree every year.
DeleteOh your things are just lovely - just the sort of thing I would buy too. I'll be back to see what comes next.
ReplyDeleteJoAnn, we love so many of the same things! It would be fun to go shopping with you someday!
DeleteOh, great finds. The apron is so pretty! Love Christmas pins too, and you found a couple really nice ones!
ReplyDeleteWe found those in a huge tub full of bling.
DeleteLooks like a heart shaped pocket on the apron! How fun to go shopping with your friend.
ReplyDeleteWarmly,
deb
Yes, it is. So many cute details on this apron!
DeleteOh, that apron is amazingly pretty. I do believe that if you wear it while cooking . . . everything you fix will be just like Mom used to cook :)
ReplyDelete:-) I hope so, Connie!!
DeleteLooks like the two of you had a great
ReplyDeletetime. Your goodies are great!
M : )
We really did. The first time I met her I knew I'd found a kindred spirit.
DeleteWhat fun finds! A perfect day.
ReplyDeleteIt really was a great day! :-)
DeleteMy daughter would love to tag along with you to those shops. She loves vintage retro stuff. She has decorated her apartment with furniture from that era. I still have Corning Ware in my cupboard that we still use.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have your daughter as one of my "treasure hunting" buddies! I love the simplicity of the blue and white cornflower. Perfect for me and my kitchen.
DeleteI love to see what people bring home from vintage places. I just posted my finds here: http://www.pattyantle.com/2013/11/franklin-french-lick-finds-keeps.html Hope you get back and finish the rest of that shop soon!
ReplyDeletePatty, I'll be over in a sec to see what you got! I definitely need to go back asap!!
DeleteWhat a fun day!
ReplyDeleteI go for the retro-vintage stuff too.
Like you said, I think because it reminds me of my childhood home!
Parents home, grandparents home... all those things from my little girl memories. :-)
DeleteOh, I love that beautiful gingham apron! Sweet finds!
ReplyDeleteWhen we got to that booth, my eyes went straight to that blue gingham and I knew it was coming home with me.
DeleteSuch sweet items. I would have come home with these too.
ReplyDeleteDonna, there were so many goodies there... I think I could easily have walked out with half the store.
DeleteBoy does this stuff just say "you" or what. How could you stop with just half the store?
ReplyDeleteMichaele, we got hungry and decided we needed to go get some lunch. I think it was probably the biggest antique mall I had ever been in.
