I want to show you the paperdolls that Tami (Vintage Connections) gave to me.
Each time we've met in real life, she has arrived with the sweetest gifts in hand.
Baby Grows Up- Whitman 1955
Aren't these darling?
The cutest little baby paperdolls!
I'm old enough to remember wearing clothes very similar to these.
Princess Diana and Prince Charles- Tom Tierney, Dover Publications 1985
Any other Princess Diana fans out there besides me?
I remember every single one of the outfits pictured in this book
and can probably even tell you where she was when she wore them.
I still get a lump in my throat when I think of the tragic way her life ended.
Thank you, Tami, for these wonderful additions to my paperdoll collection!
You are too sweet!
And I love them!
Your paper dolls are so pretty. I loved them as a child and still do!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeletePaper dolls were the main thing I played with when a child I guess. Most of mine came from mail order catalogs however. I have a few books now and love them. I always wished for the presidential paper dolls from Dover. Tami is a wonderful friend!
ReplyDeleteI have a Harry Truman paperdoll (and Bess and Margaret), but I think that is the only President I have so far.
DeleteThese sets are great! I remember the Princess Diana set.
ReplyDeleteHave fun.
M : )
I also have a paperdoll of Queen Elizabeth when she was still Princess Elizabeth. So this is my second bunch from the Royal Family.
DeleteHow sweet of her to give those to you. The baby dolls are so cute.
ReplyDeleteI know! Aren't those little babies adorable?
DeleteHow wonderfully sweet, so cute.. sometimes I wish I could reverse and be that little girl who loved to play with paper dolls.. missed visiting with you.. been home with no computer.. hopefully I will get my I pad soon hugs..
ReplyDeleteSorry you haven't had access to the computer recently. You can be a little girl at heart, no matter what your age. :-)
DeleteI've always loved Princess Di and felt a connection since I have a few people that call me Di. Love your Baby paper dolls. What a sweet gift! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWasn't it amazing that she made so many people feel connected to her and loved by her. She had an amazing gift and the world is a poorer place now that she is gone.
DeleteI love paper dolls and would play for hours with mine, Would make clothes for them and play and play.
ReplyDeleteI almost wish I could sit down and play again with some little girl LOL But I guess people would think I was ready for the mental institution. You really have a wonderful collection and I especially the Princess Diana dolls. Thanks so much for taking me down memory lane again.
Have a terrific week.
Mary
No, Mary, we would not think you were ready for the mental institution! We'd play right along with you!! :-) I think you should start collecting paperdolls along with me!
DeleteThat was sweet of her they are lovely.....Heidi
ReplyDeleteVery sweet!
DeleteTami certainly knows how to make you a happy camper, yes? What a joy!
ReplyDeleteI am certainly a very lucky girl to have such a sweet and generous friend.
DeleteWhat a generous friend. I was a huge princess Diana fan. Your special collection continues to grow!
ReplyDeleteShe sure is. One of these days I will have to do a post on my Princess Diana books. She was one of my heros.
DeleteWhat sweet paper dolls. Love the Princess Di dolls.
ReplyDeletexo Danielle
I do too!
DeleteWow, how special, those Lady Di paper dolls! And yes, I recognize her in the dresses too.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
I think a lot of us were Diana fans.
DeleteWhat a great present she gave you . Could i also invite her?????
ReplyDeleteI hope you will pop over to her blog and get to know her. She's a sweetheart.
DeleteWhat a thoughtful gift!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was.
DeleteWho would have thought that a grown woman would still love to play with paperdolls? Apparently there are a bunch of us, as they hold a big convention every year. :-)
ReplyDeleteHow fascinating. My cousin is Caroline Charles who designed the tartan dress Diana wore at the Braemar Gathering. I never thought to see one of her dresses on a a paper doll. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat tartan Caroline Charles outfit was one of my favorites! I bought one from Laura Ashley that I thought looked a bit similar. (We all wanted to look like Diana.)
DeleteWhat a lovely friend to give you such wonderful paperdolls. I especially love the baby ones - so darling.
ReplyDeleteAren't they sweet?
DeleteI love paper dolls! I have quite a collection of Betsy McCall paper dolls that I adore.
ReplyDeleteJudy
I love Betsy, too.
DeleteIt's so fun when treasure hunting to see things I know a friend adores... sometimes those things find themselves as a gift to that friend...delighted with JOY that Gayle adores her paper dolls!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Tami
Thank you, Tami!
