Honeysuckle reminds me of my childhood! They smelled wonderful. While it might not be advisable to do this, we used to pluck the blossoms from the vine, and suck the sweet nectar from the base of the flower. I'm still alive to tell about it so it must not have been poisonous. I haven't seen honeysuckle in years. Thanks for your post!
The trails here in NC are scented with honeysuckle and blackberry vines. It's intoxicating! Beautiful photos my friend! We must have walked together...I took honeysuckle photos, too! heehee!
I can just smell them right through the computer. I used to pick these as a kid and suck out the "honey". They belonged to our neighbors - so I got in trouble for it a lot.
HONEYSUCKLE....is the most glorious scent. Before I moved from West Jordan, my fence was covered with them and the smell was intoxicating. Isn't it amazing all the wonderful magical scents there are in this world for us to enjoy.
O boy honeysuckle is my most favorite sent...I loved it as a young girl. though you don't see it as much as you used to..I almost got a plant last year but ended up buying Jasmine my other favorite. When I went back to purchase the Honeysuckle they were all gone and I haven't seen them this year..boo hoo..Have a great day with love Janice thank you for the sweet memory
I love your garden photos! Thanks for sharing, I used to love taking walks where there was honeysuckle...you don't see it that much anymore and it is such an old fashioned lovely vine! Thanks, Mickie
I would so love to have a clipping of yours to try and start. The vintage vine is intoxicating, and I have not had the pleasure of their aroma in my neighborhood. I can remember the beautiful fragrance, and if I ever get a chance to start one of the vintage kind would be a joy for sure.
I just love honeysuckle and we have it along our living fence at Cranberry Cottage. It drapes over the roof of our wood shed looking so beautiful as well as through the fence. Yours is blooming beautifully!
I LOVE honeysuckles! When I was growing up in California, we had an entire hedge of them. I should try to grow some. I forgot about them. We used to such the nectar out of the flowers when we were kids.
THANK YOU for your thoughtful comments. Replies to your questions will be posted here, so be sure to check back soon. Have a wonderful day! - Gayle, Garden Of Daisies

It is a gorgeous creeper. We had it on our back fence in the last place we lived. The scent is lovely.
