If you:
1. can dance a jig,
2. know all the verses to Danny Boy,
3. eat corned beef and cabbage,
4. march in a parade every March 17th,
5. admit to kissing the Blarney Stone,
6. love Liam Neeson films,
7. can read this post with an Irish accent,
or
8. have eyes that smile,
then you will appreciate these Irish cailini.
(Vivian "Viv" Trillow Smith, Hallmark 1948)
I'm looking forward to St. Patrick's Day!
Are you?
(PS- Cailini is just Gaelic for little girls.)
Very much . . . not sure if I can remember all of Danny Boy though . . .
ReplyDeleteThese girls are sweet and yes, I like St. Patrick's Day too.
ReplyDeleteWhen I used to work in seniors facilities and Danny Boy would bring so many tears to their old eyes. It used to make me cry seeing their sadness brought out with the song Danny Boy.
ReplyDeleteI can do all of these things! :)
ReplyDeleteMy sister is married to an Irish man and she goes all out for her two boys on St. Patty's day. The Leprechauns are busy in her house around that time. Love your sweet paperdoll and card.
ReplyDeleteI have eyes that smile! heehee! Love these pretty paper dolls! Good Day my friend!
ReplyDeleteOh, how darling are these!! I can do most! Happy day to you! xo Heather

I'm from New Orleans, and we have a St. Patrick's Day parade where cabbage, carrots, and onions are the main catch - then we go home and make a stew with our loot.
I love that print of the Irish girl - too cute! <3
I have a bit of Irish in me, but I can't do all of those things listed. Sorry to say, but I never liked corned beef! Love Danny Boy and Liam Neeson films! Don't know about the eyes now, when younger I was told they sparkled. Does that count? :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I always do. This is so darling!
ReplyDeleteha ha...those suggestions of how to know if you like St Patricks day were cute.
ReplyDeleteI love Liam Neeson in ROB ROY (does that count)
other then that, I have never been much of a St. Patricks day celebrator....other then the excuse to drink green beer (tee, hee)
I have so missed these girls. I start my new job on Monday at a local commercial landscape co. It will be doing the seasonal flowers. I am so excited to be getting back to my horticulture roots. Renee

ReplyDeleteMy brother just visited from Olathe. He couldn't believe our lack of snow either!
Very cute! I consider it a sign of Spring.. so yes I'm looking forward to it! I also have a wee bit o' Irish in my blood. Will have to make some traditional dishes as well. Early Happy St. Parick's Day to you! -Tammy

So cute. Yes I like st patricks day.
ReplyDeleteThe Irish have a prominent place in the history of both our countries. There used to be a lot of celebrations here but not as many as in earlier days. Maybe its due to them being outnumbered by other cultures now. I have an English friend who plays in an Irish band. They are popular on the hotel circuit.
ReplyDeleteDarling, darling, darling! I guess I qualify! I do have a wee bit of Irish blood cruising through my veins.
