Grandma's Roses

This rose dresser scarf was made by my Grandma.
I think it is beautiful.

She was a skilled seamstress, and had
a dressmaking shop when my Mama was young.

(Photos of family may not be borrowed or pinned.)

I didn't ever really get to know this grandma.
But I hope when she looks down,
she sees that this lovely piece is treasured by her granddaughter.

(Did you notice how much the pink roses I grow
in my garden look like this embroidered piece?)

  12. Gayle...I adore this type of work and what a treat that it was made by someone in your family. Do you know what it's called? I have several pieces of it and just love it but don't know much about the process.
    Happy Spring.

  13. These are beautiful! Isn't it a shame the art of embroidery isn't learned by young girls today? It would be so much more productive then texting.
