Don't Polly and Molly look cute?
They got dressed up to march with the band in their hometown July 4th parade.

I found this box of paper dolls shoved down in a corner at an antique shop.
It cost next to nothin' and was stuffed full of several other dolls and their clothes, too.
To me, that was like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. :-)
What wonderful finds have you discovered recently?
Oh, they are adorable and I love their names.
ReplyDeleteI suppose they appeal to me as they were made the same year I was. HA!
It was a very good year! :-)
DeleteSuch cute dolls.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
:o)
Thanks, Melinda! You too!
DeleteSo cute!! I hope you had a wonderful 4th!
ReplyDeleteWe did! :-)
DeleteThey really are the cutest! What a great find....I can just see you now....excited and happy! Anxious to pay for them and go home and see what you've got! Enjoy your weekend! I used to say, 'Take time to Play' on my blog all the time!
ReplyDeleteVery excited! And I agree that taking time to play is important, even for old people like me. :-)
DeleteWill you please write to me at the Gmail address? I have something that I'd like to send you and need your address. Thx!
ReplyDeleteE-mail has been sent. Can't wait to see whatever it is!
DeleteNo finds, but enjoying your paper dolls. In 1958 that was one of my favorite activities. It ranked right up with hopscotch and the Bobbsey Twins.
ReplyDeleteI loved hopscotch and all those kid-mystery books, too.
DeleteOh, they are so cute, definitely a pot of gold moment. My sister and I had a few different paper dolls as kids,I think Barbie was one of them, wish we still had them.
ReplyDeleteYou still have those memories of playing paperdolls with your sister. And that is the most important thing.
DeleteThose dolls were just waiting to be rescued. Good for you!
ReplyDeletePaperdoll rescuer. Yes, that's me. :-)
Delete♥ so cute! I love! Have a happy day! xxx Riitta
ReplyDeleteThank you, Riitta!
DeleteYou know, l found my own paperdolls from the beginning of the seventies not long ago. My sister and l did so enjoy playing with them. Was wondering about putting them all behind a glass frame for decoration. Love your paperdoll find, a perfect treasure! Pam xx
ReplyDeletePam, that sounds like a really wonderful way to display the dolls. Be sure to look for acid free products (tape and backing paper) to frame them with.
DeleteOh my gosh what a find that was I love those sweet dolls.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been by in ever so long but I'm still around and posting on my blog less but I still do it. Nice to see you again.
Nan
Thanks for stopping by, Nan!
DeleteI can just imagine your excitement. They look in good order too.
ReplyDeleteThese 55 year old dolls are in better shape than I am! ;-)
DeleteThey are so cute, great find I love paper dolls I played with them for hours.. I think today the kids don't know what to do they are so bored all the time.. I spent hours playing paper dolls and barbie..........those were the days...Happy Monday with love Janice
ReplyDeleteI really think a lot of it depends on parenting style. I grew up knowing the importance and wonder of imaginative play, so made sure that my children had time for that, too.
DeleteThese are so, so cute!! Glad they found a perfect home with you! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteI was very glad to give them a home! :-)
