I really think that if my kids were still young, we would make all our own valentines. I really do not like the choices available at the stores these days.
I do, too. :-) And I think that young kids will happily play with whatever the adults in their life provide for them to play with. Paperdolls included. Older kids are a different story, as they are heavily influenced by friends, and parents don't have as much control over that.
I do cut them out when I have two exactly the same. Otherwise I keep the paper doll cards I find in one piece. It's so easy to lose pieces once they are cut out.
OhI sure know my sister carrie and I would have loved that Card and added it to our Paper Doll Collection for sure. Speaking of Grand-peeps you are going to be over the moon being a grandma..
My Grandma used to get me cards with paper dolls on them for my Birthday. I loved those cards because I loved paper dolls! Do little girls even play with paper dolls anymore?

I remember when most of the magazines my mother bought had a paper doll page. The back of the page was just advertisements so it didn't hurt to take the page out. I would anxiously wait for my mother to read the magazine so she'd give me the go-ahead.
Yes, they absolutely do still make paper dolls. We have a lot of really wonderful contemporary paper doll artists! There are paper doll magazines that can be subscribed to. I should do a blog post about that sometime soon. I do miss the Betsy McCall paper dolls that you are probably referring to. And Mary Engelbreit's dolls, too.
What a sweet Valentine. It has been a while since I've looked for children's valentines but I can't imagine there still being anything this sweet still around. Out of curiosity I think I'll check that out. :)
