Danielle, I had originally seen 3 of these trees and when I went back, there were only 2. So at least one other person loved them as much as I did. :-)

These are having a resurgence -- EVERYONE had one, it seems, in the 60s! And EVERYONE got rid of them in the 80s! LOL! I like your tree! I think all of them are handmade and some are better than others!
I think you are right! And I tend to love quirky/ retro/ vintage things, rather than the stuff that is "in style" at the moment. I've been looking at some collections of these trees on blogs... so many wonderful ones. :-)

I have a green one (my original), an unusual flat white one, 2 big white ones, a small white one (hmm didn't realize how many white ones I've accumulated) and a creamy colored one. The one I passed on to may daughter was a large, flat green one... now I'm hoping to "inherit" my mother in law's too :)
I have a green one [without the snow] that's about the size of yours. I bought it at a ceramic shop in the late 60's and it's a tradition to display it in our house every Christmas. I never tired of it, even when they seemed to be out of style. My mother has a beautiful large ivory one that I hope to inherit someday.
We love what we love. Who cares if it's currently "in style" or not. :-) I hope that you will inherit that tree, someday. It needs to go to someone who will truly appreciate it.
I still have ours! A Christmas gift made by a dear friend for me & my husband's first Christmas together. My tree and base are green with red lights, no snow and a plain base... so many different designs. I've seen them a lot the past few years selling at antique & vintage stores for good prices.
I have one that is a little bigger and has no snow - oh how I wish I had put snow on it when I made it long long ago. I love these trees, Yours is so sparkly with the snow on it.
Who knew they were going to have a resurgence in popularity!! I'd always loved the ones I had seen at other people's homes and was so happy when I finally found one for me! :-)
