No garden this year, as we are living in an apartment while we wait for our house to be built! I do have some herbs planted and one tomato plant which bore exactly 2 tomatoes and no more. Farmer's market, here we come!

I've been eating home grown tomatoes for a couple of weeks now. But you are farther north, so it will take a little longer. It's hard to be patient, isn't it?
Your garden has already produced so much this summer. You have such long summers, being that far south, do you get a second harvest? We had a hail storm come through here a couple of weeks ago and a lot of my plants really got battered and torn.
Your Garden looks wonderful, Mine on the other hand is dying for some odd reason... My Zucchini started out great but It's not doing good no more.. my tomatoes are stringy and my greens got full of bugs and my tomatillos plant has bus.. I never had such a poor garden I barely got some green beans today and a couple of strawberries and some peas.. It must be our weather or somethin. It's just a mess.. going to clean it all up tomorrow so sad ... I see your pretty tomatoes very nice... Have a great Thursday with love Janice
Sorry to hear that your garden is struggling this year. Perhaps companion planting would help next year. The weather is a little "off" for us, too. My pineapple sage has not been as happy with the cooler, wetter weather this year and the leaves are turning brown. :-(
That looks like a fruitful garden. I have laid 10 bales of sugar cane mulch on my garden and it has only covered a small area of our garden. I need to get loads more to finish the job.
Diane, We should have spread a new layer of mulch, but didn't, and are paying the price in weeds. Interesting that they use sugar cane to make mulch where you are. Here it's mostly pine bark.
Your garden looks absolutely fantastic. Those tomatoes look wonderful.Thanks for the sweet comment-I should have written in that on the suitcase bed-I used metal braces to keep it open. Maybe I'll go back and edit that in, just in case someone decides to try this. Have a great week in your lovely garden!
Hey Gayle, nice to see what's growing, love the abundance Summer brings. My first Daffodil for the season bloomed yesterday, the Jonquils and violets are flowering in abundance and that's about it at the moment. Oh yes, the weeds continue to grow!! Have a great weekend......
Your garden is looking very happy and healthy, especially those big tomatoes. I've been picking lots of cherry tomatoes, but the big ones are still green.
I planted Zinnias for the first time this year. Mine are bright orange and they have grown a treat. Definitely a must for next year. I'm still waiting for tomatoes - but the flowers have come out!!
Beautiful flowers and yummy vegetables! I wasn't able to have a kitchen garden this year and miss the fresh vegies! I am enjoying bringing my flowers in to enjoy, though. Wishing you a great weekend! Nancy
