Easy Microwaved Apples

For a quick and tasty holiday treat, cook an apple in the microwave.

Core and slice one apple. (I like to leave the skin on.)

Top with:
2 Tablespoons of brown sugar
1 Tablespoon of sweet cream butter
chopped pecans
smidge of cloves
smidge of ginger
(You may substitute any of your favorite nuts and spices)

Microwave for one minute.  Stir to coat the apples with the buttery sugar mixture.
Microwave for one more minute (or until your apple reaches the desired softness.)

Top with a dollop of whipped cream, if you like.
Yum yum!

  2. That looks so scrummy! I've never thought of microwaving apples before - I always bake them or stew them - this looks so much easier!

  5. I've been baking apples in the oven; never thought of using the microwave but it would be much faster when I need a quick dessert. I also leave the peelings on.

  14. That looks and sounds delicious. I love the apple bowl. Being from Washington I developed a love of apple dishes and have found several sets at thrift stores. My newest favorite is a set of teacups and saucers, clear glass, and the saucers are apple shape.

  15. This sounds wonderful! Thank you for sharing. You asked on my blog about whether the solution would work on burlap...........I think it would because burlap is more loosely woven than linen. I know that it will not hurt any kind of fabric. Good luck!
