I want to do a quick share of my little creative space.
I get to use half of our home-office to house my sewing table
(a huge old vintage wooden office desk with really deep drawers),
ironing board, quilting fabrics and all my crafting supplies.
I don't craft for a living, so for me this is more than enough.

I don't craft for a living, so for me this is more than enough.
I enjoy doing lots of things:
Sewing, embroidery, quilting, crocheting, origami, quilling, and card making.
I also love to make holiday ornaments using felt, beads, and vintage buttons and trims.
I have enough books and patterns to keep me busy for 25 years!
For storage I like to use: glass jars, tins and tool boxes,
vintage planters, fabric covered boxes, baskets and the occasional toy.

I still have a few things stored in plastic, but am moving away from that when possible.
My space is still evolving, but it lets me get the job done.
Here is a picture from last fall, when I was working on Christmas projects.
So, where do you create?
ha ha...I simply, DO. NOT. Create. Not my bag. I have no talent for it. I read.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I DO WANT to learn to embrodery (sp) this winter.
wanna come up here and teach me
Everything looks so neat and tidy and so colorful. I can bet you get lots of inspiration for your projects in your special place. Thanks for sharing it.

Gayle I had to laugh at your craft for a living...I don't either but I craft to live! Everything is so beautifully tidy. I love to see how others keep all their bits...smiles...Renee
ReplyDeleteYou have such a colorful, creative space to work in! It looks so pretty. I actually posted the other day about my creative space I work in, but I don't have 1/10th of the stuff you have, lol!
ReplyDeleteI am impressed! Everything looks great and it's more fun to create in a space that looks this good! I cross-stitched when I was younger, but gifted my pattern books, thread etc. to a good friend - my hands/eyes don't work like they once did!
ReplyDeleteFantastic area! I took a spare bedroom for my sewing room. It has room for my three roller quilting frame.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a really nice area like you do for all my crafts. My stamping/card making area is set up in our closet (yes, you read that right) and the rest is stashed here and there. One day hopefully I'll have a nice area or even room to really spread out... :-)
ReplyDeleteLove how colorful and pretty your crafting area is, too.
I love your space! I could spend hours snooping. I am not creative in arty sense so I don't have a space like that. My creative space is outside.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember seeing a picture of you before. You match your blog!
:-)
Love your space and all those books! Love books!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute!!! It's nice to put a face to your blog! We have a few of the same treasures!
Warmly,
deb
I love how you've displayed all your crafting supplies. You are too darn cute too.
ReplyDeleteNice...and your organized. I used to have a craft space, for now my stuff lives in bins and I tote them back and forth to my dining table. Someday. Thanks for sharing. Mica
ReplyDeleteYours looks so well organized..sure makes things a lot easier to find and play with..well done❤
ReplyDeleteLove your studio!! Everything is so neat and pretty!! Cute photo!! Happy creating! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteWhen you get a chance--could you come by and organize my sewing room? I wouldn't take a picture of it right now if someone paid me.
ReplyDeleteYours looks great!!!
:)

Oo, love taking a peek into your crafty space! I feel fortunate I have a spare room to call my own even though it's not how I make a living either. Sometimes I just enjoy being in there, reading art books and being around the things that inspire me!
ReplyDeleteYour craft space is so well organized. I have the whole attic for crafting but I also do it outside, in the living room etc.... So everywhere in the house, even outside are buckets with wool, knitting needles, pincushions, thread in boxes, pieces of fabric ..... My creative space is a real MESS.
ReplyDeletewhat a great space my friend would be swooning at all your gorgeous rick rack ;-) dee x
ReplyDeleteYour creative space is wonderful, Gayle! I especially like the way you use tins and glass for storage. The different colors showing through the glass especially caught my eye.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful remainder of the week!
I love your creative space!! So pretty and colorful.
ReplyDeleteYou are one well organised lady. It looks like a crafter's dream space. I dabble in crafts occassionally but mostly I get involved with photography and photobooks.
ReplyDeleteWow, you are really organized. Love this space, Jean
ReplyDeleteI love your little crafting nook. It's so bright and cheery and looks like it's got everything you need. I'm the same way, I love to do lots of things :)
ReplyDeleteYour space is colorful and cute. I love the plastic drawers for your fabric. I'm always trying different things for fabric and sometimes it works and sometimes not. Love the little vintage touches!I have enough stash here to last me about 25 years too. LOL
ReplyDeleteYour space is so lovely...I love all the colour and your pencils make me soooo happy. I love jars of coloured pencils...sending you lots of love for happy creating in that lovely room of yours.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the party, it is so much fun. I love your studio its so bright, cheery and inspiring. Thanks for sharing. Kathy
ReplyDeleteIt certainly looks like you have everything well organized. The only craft I do is scrapbooking and I have a desk in the office/craft room where I do so. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour space is so darling - all color coordinated. I love the pencils in the jars - and most everything - it is all so tidy and sweet.
ReplyDeleteI am making cupcake pincushions right now - they are made of felt and beads and sequins and silicone baking cups - so much fun!!!
Everything at your fingertips, it's perfect! I love all of the colored pencils. Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteYou are so neat! It looks like you have everything you need for crafting! I don't create anymore, I guess I got burnt out years ago when crafting was all I thought about. Now I'm into taking photos and trying to learn how to get better shots. Have fun creating!
ReplyDeleteLove the hatbox of rirac!
ReplyDeleteI love your creative space...the pops of color....you are so organized.
ReplyDeleteYour so cute and what a great space...Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou are so organised - and have so much 'stuff' - wonderful. I have just popped over from Stitch and Bake and your blog looks great. I will be back.
ReplyDeleteI have only been to America once, but fell in love with it. We did 3 nights in New York, train to Boston and the rest of the two weeks touring New England - the best holiday ever!
Love your space!!

Love love love your playroom! I am working on mine...one day I will be able to post pix. I love to look at what others have done and "borrow' little ideas here and there. You are very organized.
