My Little Sewing/Crafting Space

I want to do a quick share of my little creative space.
I get to use half of our home-office to house my sewing table
(a huge old vintage wooden office desk with really deep drawers),
ironing board, quilting fabrics and all my crafting supplies.
I don't craft for a living, so for me this is more than enough.

I enjoy doing lots of things:
Sewing, embroidery, quilting, crocheting, origami, quilling, and card making.
I also love to make holiday ornaments using felt, beads, and vintage buttons and trims.

I have enough books and patterns to keep me busy for  25 years!
For storage I like to use: glass jars,  tins and tool boxes,
vintage planters,  fabric covered boxes, baskets and the occasional toy.
I still have a few things stored in plastic, but am moving away from that when possible.

My space is still evolving, but it lets me get the job done.
Here is a picture from last fall, when I was working on Christmas projects.

So,  where do you create?

  1. ha ha...I simply, DO. NOT. Create. Not my bag. I have no talent for it. I read.
However, I DO WANT to learn to embrodery (sp) this winter.
wanna come up here and teach me

  4. You have such a colorful, creative space to work in! It looks so pretty. I actually posted the other day about my creative space I work in, but I don't have 1/10th of the stuff you have, lol!

  5. I am impressed! Everything looks great and it's more fun to create in a space that looks this good! I cross-stitched when I was younger, but gifted my pattern books, thread etc. to a good friend - my hands/eyes don't work like they once did!

  6. Fantastic area! I took a spare bedroom for my sewing room. It has room for my three roller quilting frame.

  7. I wish I had a really nice area like you do for all my crafts. My stamping/card making area is set up in our closet (yes, you read that right) and the rest is stashed here and there. One day hopefully I'll have a nice area or even room to really spread out... :-)
Love how colorful and pretty your crafting area is, too.

  8. I love your space! I could spend hours snooping. I am not creative in arty sense so I don't have a space like that. My creative space is outside.

I don't remember seeing a picture of you before. You match your blog!
    :-)

  15. Oo, love taking a peek into your crafty space! I feel fortunate I have a spare room to call my own even though it's not how I make a living either. Sometimes I just enjoy being in there, reading art books and being around the things that inspire me!

  16. Your craft space is so well organized. I have the whole attic for crafting but I also do it outside, in the living room etc.... So everywhere in the house, even outside are buckets with wool, knitting needles, pincushions, thread in boxes, pieces of fabric ..... My creative space is a real MESS.

  29. You are so neat! It looks like you have everything you need for crafting! I don't create anymore, I guess I got burnt out years ago when crafting was all I thought about. Now I'm into taking photos and trying to learn how to get better shots. Have fun creating!

  32. You are so organised - and have so much 'stuff' - wonderful. I have just popped over from Stitch and Bake and your blog looks great. I will be back.

I have only been to America once, but fell in love with it. We did 3 nights in New York, train to Boston and the rest of the two weeks touring New England - the best holiday ever!
