Little Daisies

A collection of little daisies on one of my blue and white platters.

(Viking stoneware)

Oh no!  I just saw that "Picnik" is going to close. That's were I frame, label and make mosaics for all the photos on my blog.  So I will need to find a new photo play ground.  Who do you use?

  1. Love your daisies, and love that you shared your platter too.

I've experimenting with Pixlr. It has layers!

  2. Gayle I can't believe that they are closing. What are we going to do? Such a shame. Love your pins. Such an affinity for these enamel pins. Just went to fabric recycle the other day and mentioned you...smiles...Renee

  3. I use Photoshop Elements but don't really know what I'm doing. I have used Picasa, maybe that will work for you. - Love your sweet pins! xo

  5. I'm completely smitten with your flower pins. I was surprised to see the news of Picnik too. I'll be doing some sleuthing.

  6. You are beyond my skill level but now you have me interested in bordering photos, etc. I will check back to see what you find.

  7. Cute pins. I use Lunapic, but not sure if it's similar to the one you've used.

  9. I just got Picnik figured out. Don't know what I'll do. Bet I'll be downloading a bunch before they are gone.

  11. I love your daisies, but they are bearing bad news. Picnik is closing? It always charmed me! I'd be willing to pay to keep it. Wonder if that would help?

But, I do think your daisies are adorable!

  13. I never used Picnik, but it seems that many did and will miss it a lot. I always wondered how people framed their photos as you do. Now it's too late for me!

  20. I'm really unhappy about Picnik. Signed a petition, not that it will make much difference. I did a post today about one alternative I've found.

  21. I love the little pins - you have such interesting collections.

I've not used picnick - I found it confusing and hard to use. Mostly I use irfanview - but haven't tried to do frames and such on it - just edit the photos - it is easy and straightforward.

  22. Love your pins and the pretty blue and white platter. The pins remind me of my mom as she loved daisies and had a pin like the second one from the left.
I got an e-mail from Picnik this morning and deleted it thinking it was Spam. I couldn't believe that they were closing. I have been using them and loving it for collages. I hate when they change things :(.

  23. Your little pins are such a touch of summer during these cold, snowy days. And your blue and white china reminds me of my Mother-in-law...it was one of her favorite patterns. I have some very tiny little pieces.

Will be interested to follow along as people suggest replacement to Picnik. Have been wanting to do more with my basic photo set up and don't know where to go.

  24. I use Picasa at home and Snapfire at work.

Love your enamel pins. They were so big when I was a kid. Not sure I have any anymore, but I bet I do. I never get rid of anything.

I really have a wonderful pin collection. When I had to "dress" for work I always wore a pin on my lapel. I kept all the cutsey pins I bought for my daughter too.

  27. Beautiful pins, so delicate and the colours are stunning.
I use either Photoscape or Picasa for mosaics/collages and Ashampoo Photo Commander for frames/borders, it all depends what I need.

  32. I have a bright pink daisy; I wear it sometimes on a navy jacket. You certainly have some beautiful colors.

I'm working on the 366 challenge, little by little. I mentioned it in my blog, but thinking I didn't type in the correct address.

  33. Those vintage daisy pins are so pretty! I could see one of them on a winter wool coat to add some whimsy and cheer up a dull, cold winter day.

  34. I hated to hear that about Picnik! I use it all the time. I should have known...just when you get used to something, they change it or eliminate it.
Bah Humbug! (sorry, I just had to say it)

  35. These are oh so pretty Gayle. I can't decide which I like most.

I'm afraid I've never used any photo framing. Your blog always has such a distinctive look - hope you find something similar you enjoy using.

  38. Your pins are so pretty!

I didn't use Picnik often but it was nice when I needed it. I use Picasa most of the time. I am hoping that Picasa will inherit the features that Picnik made available.
