Happy Little Bluebirds

Tweet!  Tweet!

I think I have enough little bluebirds scattered around the house
to ensure happiness within these walls for a very long time.

I like that some of them still have their coldpaint faces.
(Paint applied over the glaze, after the firing process.)

At least two of my birds are genuine Shawnee.  I'm unsure about the others.
(Any experts out there?)
Shawnee did not mark all of their pieces and there were reproductions made.
It doesn't really matter.  I just love the way they look.

What's making you smile these days?

Have a happy weekend, everyone!

  2. I like your bluebirds. My most favorite planter has bluebirds on it. I don't use it for plants, just decoration.

  5. Hi Gayle,
Thanks for coming by to visit, and for leaving your sweet comments.

Love your lil bluebirds of happiness, they are really cute. Also think the pecan crunch or whatever you called it looks to die for!! Yum Yum,
I will be right over!! lol

Also that crinkle glass is so pretty love those robins egg blue colored ones, oh they are so gorgeous. My mom used to have glasses like that but only they were clear glass, still pretty but much prettier in colors.

Nice blog you have here, enjoyed my visit.....
    Blessings, Nellie

  9. Hi Gayle, I've enjoyed looking at your blog and now have you as a favorite, so I can follow! What state and city do you live in? Maybe we can meet up someday, looks like we like a lot of the same things. I especially like bluebirds and I LOVE your vintage linens. The dish towels in your title are so sweet! Thanks for leaving comments on my blog, that's how I found you!

  11. I am one ignoramus when it comes to pottery but the bluebirds are cute. I have frogs everywhere in my house. My grandson taking his first steps made me laugh.

  15. I love that particular shade of blue - on walls, for clothes, on upholstery...

  16. Isn't it fascinating how our tastes in colour change. As I get older blues and greens are becoming more and more vital to my inner peace. Those birds are joyful little souls.

So much is making me happy these days (despite the usual problems we all face). I love looking at the bumble bees fumbling about our overgrown lavender bush. I'm excited about starting another knitting project. I have just finished a dress for my daughter which I have named 'Dog Rose'...

    Have a lovely Sunday.

  19. I have a few of those birds, but sadly none of them are blue like yours. They're so sweet! And if something isn't marked on the bottom, I have no clue what it is, especially if it's marked USA, because I guess some of those things can also be McCoy or other makers. Either way, your flock of bluebirds are wonderful!

  21. I love bluebirds! Right now I have 5 baby bluebirds in the bluebird nest box and I am so excited because it's the first time I have had a successful hatching:>) I like to keep figurines of these pretty little birds around the house too. I've never seen any like yours. Adorable!
