The perfect snack. Peanut butter cookies and a big glass of milk.
This old family favorite is easy to make.

1 cup peanut butter
2 cups flour

1 cup oatmeal
Beat together shortening and sugars.
Add eggs.
Add peanut butter.
Sift dry ingredients together and mix into creamed mixture.
Stir in oatmeal.

ReplyDeleteOh, this brings back memories. My mother would bake these regularly, a sweet reminder of childhood. I can taste right now the ones that were left in the oven a bit too long but I liked the slightly burnt around the edge taste..Thanks for sharing these.
ReplyDeleteSoft Peanut Butter Cookies are my favorites...I can just imagine the beautiful memories you created for your son. He will remember this forever, and share the day with his own son someday. What a way to spend the day together.
