Fish And Chips And Irish Stew

We had a yummy dinner at a local Irish restaurant.   Mr. Garden had fish and chips.

I had Irish stew.  Delicious!

The restaurant's cozy booths, dark wood wainscoting, sports team jersey's and posters created a fun and welcoming feel.

Anyone going  to an Irish breakfast or to the parade on St Patrick's Day?

  2. I have a long-standing date to meet a dear friend for lunch on St Patrick's Day. We'll lunch and then spend the afternoon sewing together. Maybe I'll dig out some Irish reels to spur us along!

  3. How yummy! I would like the fish and chips!. I didn't know what the dance shoes were called. So I really enjoyed leaning about them.
A very fun post. Take care and enjoy your weekend,

  5. Both of those meals looked delicious! I don't have any big plans for St. Patrick's day. Kansas City has a big St. Patrick's day parade so I may go watch the parade this year (it all depends on our crazy weather!)

  7. My mouth actually started watering! I usually make a big batch of corned beef and cabbage, and we used to go to the parade, but they aren't having it this year, because of all the people that would get very drunk and then urinate in people's yards! Yuk!
    Happy Sunday!

  8. Oh I love fish & chips so much (Irish Stew too)! Sadly hard to come by here -- closest thing is 'Long John Silver's' drive through ;-(. Guess I should learn to make my own at home (Jamie Oliver's good recipe maybe?), but it's just not as fun as having it in a cosy pub, is it?
    Blessings,

  11. Both meals look yummy! As for celebrating St. Patrick's Day, we don't do anything special even though there is just a bit of Irish in the family tree.

  15. No Parade or breakfast but I am having a St. Patrick's Day luncheon at my house!

I wanted to tell you it sounds like you raised a wonderful daughter. It is great to hear about her and other young people going to do volunteer work. That is going to be something she will never forget and neither will the people who's life she touches.

    Hugs,
    Joanne

  16. I usually "do" corned beef made into reubens cause "doc" doesn't love cabbage the way the rest of us do. I am of Irish descent but had no idea that your blog title was actually the name of a dance. Very cool. I love learning new things!

  20. Parade season has started here on Long Island, or Long Ireland if you prefer!
My son and his 4 little Leprechauns, 8, 6, 4 and just turned 2 marched in the parade in their town. Seamus the 4 y o told me he didn't know why they had to march. I told him it would be fun...people would CLAP for him...to which he started yelling to my son that Nana said people would C#%ap at him!! Oh boy!
Next weekend there will be severa more, and even after the big one in NYC on the 17th, the following weekend there are still more! I guess we love a parade here..:)
Thanks so much for putting the blog party up! :)
